How long does it take to warm a bottle?  Depending on the size of the bottle, it will take about 10 minutes.  Wide bottles  take longer than skinny ones as there is less bottle surface in contact with the heat.   Be sure to ensure that the warming pack is in contact with the bottle.  Swirl the bottle a few times while warming to distribute heat evenly throughout.

The pack doesn’t secure tightly around the bottle…  Baby Goga is designed to snap securely around most bottles.  If the warming pack does not snap tightly around the bottle, do not use the snaps—wrap (without snaps) Baby Goga around bottle and then wrap with a burp cloth to ensure a tight fit.  Bottles warm best when in direct contact with the heat pack.

What is it made of and is it safe?  Baby Goga products are made of a concentrated, food-grade sodium acetate (salt) and water solution.  The pouch is made of durable PVC.  Baby Goga products are safe and non-toxic.

How long does it stay warm?  Baby Goga products will stay warm anywhere from 30 minutes to over 2 hours, depending on  the starting temperature of the pack, how it is used and how the product is insulated during use.

Can I freeze it and use it as an ice pack?  No, we do not recommend freezing Baby Goga.  However, you can cool them in the fridge and use them for cold therapy treatments.

How many times can it be used?  Hundreds of times as long as the pouch stays intact.

How hot does it get?  Baby Goga will hit a peak temperature of a safe 130 degrees.

After boiling, sometimes it starts to harden on it’s own—what do I do?  This  sometimes happens if the pack was not boiled long enough.  Place in pot of boiling water and boil again.  Remember to boil until all signs of crystals are gone.  Extended boiling will not affect the product or performance.  Let cool and reuse.

I flexed the disk, but the pack never got very warm and never completely crystallized—is it broken?  No, when the pack doesn’t completely crystallize, although it may warm slightly, it’s simply because there were still remnants of crystals that weren't completely dissolved while boiling OR it wasn’t allowed to cool completely after boiling.  Simply boil again completely, let cool and pack will be ready to use again.  Attempting to activate Baby Goga by flexing the disk while the pack is still warm after boiling will prevent it from functioning properly that time, but will not damage the product for future use.

I flexed the disk, but nothing happened…  This sometimes happens, simply flex the disk again.

Do I have to boil it after each use?  No, but it is recommended  so it is ready the next time you need it.  Leaving it in its crystallized state for extended periods of time may allow a tiny amount of water to evaporate.  This may result in a slightly higher peak temperature, and when in its crystallized state, it may be slightly harder than when first purchased but it will continue to function properly.

Can I microwave it?  We do not recommend microwaving, it can cause the pouch to rupture.

I forgot about Baby Goga on the stove and it boiled for almost an hour…  No worries!  You can’t over boil Baby Goga!  Over boiling will damage the heat packs ONLY if the water in the pot evaporates off.

Tips for optimal use

Þ Place on a cloth or paper towel when boiling to prevent Baby Goga from sticking to the pot and to keep the pouch looking new.

Þ To speed up the cooling process after boiling, place in the fridge, rinse in cool water or soak in ice water.

Þ To maximize heating potential once activated, knead bottle warmer to distribute heat crystals evenly, secure warmer around bottle, then wrap with a burp cloth or place in an insulated bag to extend heat duration.

Þ Allow to boil for an additional 3-5 minutes longer than recommended time to insure complete dissolution of all crystals.

Þ Placing Baby Goga on the dashboard of a car on a hot, sunny day will reset it, if given a few hours!

Þ When  boiling more than one pack at a time, add extra minutes to the boiling time—boil until all signs of crystals are gone.!
